For me I have always found buying gifts for men to be much more difficult that when buying for women. My husband tells me though that this is not the case. He says that women are just as difficult, if not more so.
So how do you choose the perfect presents for the women in your life? Whether you're searching for a gift for your wife, girlfriend, mother, grandmother, daughter or friend here are some tips to help make things easier.
1. What is she like as a person?
- Is she the sort of woman that likes to be the center of attention or is she happiest when she's more in the background?
- Does she like getting dressed up and going out?
- Is she sentimental?
- Does she buy herself special things or does she tend to go without.
2. Be observant
- What does she talk about?
There may be moments in conversations where she'll say she's run out of something, she doesn't have the right accessories to go with her favourite outfit or perhaps what she would love to spend her next paycheck on. - What jewellery does she currently wear?
- Does she prefer Silver Jewellery or Gold or Rose Gold Jewellery.
- Does she like bolder statement pieces or simple and dainty pieces.
- Does she have a preference to wearing a particular type of jewellery? I.e., earrings, necklaces or bracelets?
3. What is happening in her life?
- Is she a mother? A necklace with their childs initials can be one of the most treasured pieces of jewellery for a mother.
- Has she recently got married? A personlised piece of jewellery with her wedding date or spouses initial might be a good option.
- Is there another special event? A graduation date etc?
- Has a close family member moved away? Wearing their initial is a way of keeping those we care about close to us.
4. Always remember that the thought is what counts the most. Flowers, chocolates and a handwritten card are always a welcome gift but remember that spending time with you and knowing that you are there for them are the most important things.
